The Manoir de la Possonniere

             

      Just 10 minutes away is the birthpace and childhood home of one of Frances most famous poets Pierre de Ronsard (1524-1585).

      In the pretty village of Couture-sur-Loir is the Manoir de la Possonniere.

      The site is composed of a manor house, in early renaissance style, troglodyte dwellings and amazing rose garden.

      Open daily from mid June to mid September, and Sundays and Thursdays from March to June and September to November.

 

 

 

The poets of his time referred to Ronsard as the Prince of poets and many compare him to Shakespeare.
